Work proxy filtering – Websense

Isn’t it great when you surf on the net at work? All the useful information you can read, all the things you could learn, the ways you could amuse your co-workers.

Alas.

Sadly there is an enemy to this dream, the work proxy (WebSense). It blocks sites and denies you the fruit of knowledge. Here what happens when you try to go to “Greasemonkey” (fameous Firefox add-in) related site:

So yes. Please stop using those dirty Greasemonkey scripts. They are very very naughty JavsScript scripts.

  1. I use uTorrent and would like to protect myself from getting tracked or identified when downloading. I googled one thing like “torrent proxy” and discovered a web-site using a list of proxy IPs along with their respective ports and proxy forms. I located a SOCKS5 proxy and typed within the IP and port into my connection preferences. Is this enough to hide myself, or is there one thing else I’ve to complete?
